Ohio

Ohio ranks 7th in the country for natural gas production and 11th for crude oil production, and in-state electricity generation is overwhelmingly sourced from fossil fuels. Despite ranking 7th in the country for energy consumption due to its high population, heavily industrialized economy, and wide seasonal temperature variations, Ohio’s emissions decreased 27% from 2005-2021.
