Nevada

Nevada has among the highest potential for large-scale clean energy projects; the state has the greatest solar power potential in the country and accounts for around a quarter of the nation’s utility-scale electricity generation from geothermal energy. Renewables comprise over 30% of in-state electricity generation, with the rest dominated by natural gas. With a mandatory reduction target of 28% by 2025, the state has successfully decreased emissions by 23% from 2005-2021, but this still represents a 21% increase from 1990 emissions levels.
